ABOUT US

The Tatlicilar bakery is renowned far beyond the borders of Germany for its exquisite baked goods. Managing Director Ertan Saydam recognized his enthusiasm for the finest pastries early, and began making Turkish delicacies at the age of 13. You could say that the Tatlicilar bakery's road to success began with his love for baklava.
It hasn't been an easy road for Ertan Saydam, but it has been a successful one, which tells of love for sweet delicacies and shows that the highest quality wins out even in times of crisis.

He was able to venture his first steps in the bakery in Berlin Kreuzberg, which was run by his parents and where they sold their products. His goal was to learn a lot about pastries by looking over his parents' shoulders. Already at this time he realised that quality is the key to success. If the sweet delicacy melts on the tongue and the taste buds respond with enthusiasm, the customer always comes back to buy his favourite pastries at Tatlicilar. This creates customer loyalty and at the same time word of mouth. Because everyone who enjoys these wonderful pastries enthusiastically spreads the word of how good they tasted.
He took responsibility at an early age

When he was sixteen years old his parents went back to their Turkish homeland. Ertan Saydam took over the confectionery company from his parents, and at this young age understandably had to overcome some hurdles. Employees were not inclined to take this rookie, who was around the age of their children, particularly seriously. But the enthusiasm he felt for delicious and exquisite pastries spurred him on to top performances.
Ertan Saydam reached well beyond his own bakery, and drove his car full of delicacies from his bakery to the Hamburg Wholesale Market. He was looking for buyers for his baked goods and was able to do business in Hamburg and Bremen due to his aptitude for business. The "northerners" were enthusiastic about these delicious delicacies from the Turkish art of baking. The Rhineland and Southern Germany were also conquered, and have been spoiled ever since by his baked goods.

Due to the tireless commitment of Ertan Saydam and his now twenty industrious employees, these Turkish sweets and appetising pastries are currently being sold in twenty countries. The Tatlicilar bakery doesn't just sell its products between Helsinki and Lisbon, but has also come to be appreciated by dealers and consumers alike.
Expanding with enthusiasm

The current manufacturing plant in Berlin Wedding will become too small in the near future, even though everyone feels very comfortable there. A plot of land at the Tiergarten would be an adequate alternative for allowing the aroma of honey, sugar, nuts, and spices greater flow through the major production areas. But the expansion will proceed further, and the results of market research are taking the enthusiastic Managing Director to Malaysia and Dubai now. The product range has become quite extensive and is no longer limited to traditional Turkish baklava.
